(FTSV at Senator Cortese’s 4th Annual Picnic by the Lake Published 11/6/2026) First Tee – Silicon Valley (FTSV) joined more than 100 other resource booths at Senator Dave Cortese’s 4th Annual Picnic by the Lake on October 10th. Hellyer County Park was buzzing with thousands of South San José and Senate District 15 neighbors who came together to celebrate the community’s diversity and enjoy free family activities, lunch, pumpkins, and multicultural performances.
FTSV was on hand to promote our upcoming Winter season classes, which are open to all 2nd-12th graders, and to connect with local families. Kids lined up to spin the prize wheel while parents chatted with our staff about our program.
Senator Cortese stopped by the FTSV booth for a quick chat and photo, giving us the chance to thank him for his recent help in securing $2.125 million in state funding for capital improvements to FTSV’s home at Rancho del Pueblo. These upgrades will provide increased benefit to FTSV participants and the community. READ MORE about the planned improvements.
Thank you, Senator Cortese, for hosting this wonderful event. We are proud to be part of this vibrant, diverse community, which we have served for over 25 years and look forward to serving for many more.
